Community Tasting Note

March 27, 2017 - Dark purple. Intense oaky, vanilla, blue fruit nose, unapologetic modern. The palate is lush and sexy, very competent for a second wine. The difference between this wine and a USA/Chile lush Merlot the Bordeaux terroir that ads character. Not my kind of wine but the crowd pleasing quality cannotbe denied.

I was fortunate to have tasted vintages back to 1993 and it did phenomenally well and consistent. After a price bubble of the first wine, Chateau Valandraud is now priced at fair value in my view. I have bought some Magnums in 12 and 14.
