  May 7, 2017 - Color: deep/dark ruby core -> medium deep ruby rim with a touch of garnet. Classic GL bouquet of leather, barnyard, blackcurrant and tobacco. Medium to full bodied palate showing cassis, cigarbox, leather and earth. For me, classic old-school Bordeaux profile that, unfortunately, shows the shortcomings of the vintage. Finish is a bit short and coarse with an unpleasant tannic slap (still). I'm thinking the rough tannins will outlast what I'm seeing as fading fruit here. Pleasant enough today with food though (duck, brussel sprouts, wild rice w/pecans & cranberries).
