May 16, 2017 - Very classic left bank nose. This is old school Bordeaux. I love this vintage! I agree that 2001 is perhaps even better, and more mature, but the 2002 is sp well built and will last a long time. The nose has green peppers, blackcurrant, some cedar and cigar and just beginning hints of forest floor, which to me implies that it is entering its drinking window (tertiary aromas). Medium bodied with impeccable balance between acidity, fruit and tannins. The tannins are still there obviously but they are quite soft. 1 hour decant is enough.
