June 17, 2017 - Wine-Pages Glasgow Festival of Wine Post Offline (The Western Club, Glasgow): Compared to the 1982 drank alongside this, this has a much more closed, muted nose. Sweet blackcurrant fruit is eventually released, and it's clear there's some class here.
Lighter and fresher than the 1982 (which is hardly surprising, though the degree to which it is, is greater than I'd probably have expected). This feels almost too young, with relatively fresh fruit and a firm tannic structure. Almost feels a bit separate on the palate.

7/20/17, 7:56 PM - I completely agree with your comments. The question I had is did I catch it on the way down or is there still potential here to build in the upcoming years. I felt the wine was a bit muted on the after taste as well and that I was drinking a younger wine.
