October 20, 2017 - Not the opulence and depth one comes to expect from hyped up 100 pt by Parker, however nevertheless it is a muscular wine with lots of fruits, oak, and sweet tannins. It lacks a bit of depth which I suppose can come with age.

12/5/17, 9:41 AM - I scored this wine higher than any other...a few years ago. I loved its power and muscle. Trying to decide when to open my last bottle. Did you decant?

12/5/17, 11:05 AM - I believe I had a table decant and enjoyed it at a restaurant. Yes I would recommend a decant especially at this age.

12/5/17, 7:20 PM - I had this back in September at the Chateau with dinner. I do not know how long it had been decanted. It was outstanding then. I think I gave it a 98 here. I have one bottle put away in the chiller and will look to obtain more over the next year. This isn't yet firing on all cylinders IMO, although it is quite good right now. I think Parker sometimes projects a little! I don't know if it's a 100 pointer but it's up there and will surely develop further. It's very nice at 7 years. I'm really looking forward to the next 10 year window. I know it's probably sacrilegious on here to not yearn for a full 50 year development with BDX wines, but my palate likes them in this little sweetspot (stronger fruit and power but with smooth tannins with finesse and class, no overbearing astringency) that is often hard to hit or time just right. The '86 Cos I had the other night was clearly on the downside. Not really all that much fun, yet some here will say it's great and ride it another 10 years. A lot of 2000-05's are drinking extremely well right now. I hope in 5-10 years this PC '10 knocks our socks off, guys.

12/6/17, 3:17 AM - Thanks for the comments Mark1npt, I generally like Bdx young and firm so I'll open this sooner rather than later.

12/6/17, 4:50 AM - Thanks Tim....I wish I knew when the 'exact' drink by date was on the BDX, but it's so hit and miss. I really want to wait, but maybe only 3 more years into the 10 year window with this one that I talked about. I generally like them 'younger' too...lol.
