    January 7, 2018 - This isn't alcoholic, but in keeping with my general experience of Janasse there is a pushed/roasted element that I didn't like. Lots of liquorice, good rounded mouthfeel, but really lacks balance and complexity for me compared with my favorite CdP producers. I've been selling all wines made by this producer in my cellar, and this affirms my decision... good but not great. 91-93pts

    5/7/22, 4:01 AM - I have more limited experience with Janasse wines than you but I sadly have to agree with your overall conclusion about the house style. It’s one I don’t care for. Add to that my general disappointment (relative to high expectations ) for 2007 Rhône and…your note doesn’t surprise me. Thanks for confirming what I already sort of suspected to be the case.

    5/7/22, 4:41 AM - Don't let it put you off 2007 CdP though - they were disjointed a few years ago but have really come around and are now drinking wonderfully (and dare I say it... are pretty good value... for now....)
