January 11, 2018 - I always get a few bottles of Cabernet to go along with my yearly allocation of Zinfandel, and even though very young, this is a substantial wine. I actually have consumed all three bottles of what I ordered this year, I couldn't help myself---I'll need to get quite a bit of the 2015 when it's released. Always a sleeper of a Cabernet from Dry Creek Valley--structured, vanilla spice, gobs of fruit, and a medium finish. If you have some in your cellar, save into 2019, and you'll be rewarded. 92-93 points.

6/16/18, 7:10 AM - Thank you JPPeterson! I am glad to see my notes helped, I appreciate the feedback! I recently had a 2010 A. Rafanelli Cabernet that was in a really good spot, the tannins had melted into the fruit, and was very smooth, with some secondary flavors coming in. With that said, I do like California Cabernets on the young side (3-5 years from vintage, but that's just me). I was just at A. Rafanelli and the winemaker Shelly gave me a scolding for drinking her wines so young, but why take a chance when they are so good now?
