April 22, 2018 - I'm not sure why I decided to open this. Sure, it's Chave, but I don't particularly care about white Rhones... I just couldn't put my finger on any other white wine that I wanted. Either way, this is singing. The color is a touch dark, but it's got a full-on exotic profile with hazelnuts and a waxy, pollen and floral character. It's got great weight to complement a full body, and there's a slight impression of sweetness that actually plays very well here. It's a big wine, but well-supported. I was really only hoping for a solid drink here, but this totally delivers on multiple levels. Great stuff.
