  October 6, 2018 - Rather light red, slightly opaque, some brick colour at the edge. Nose with ripe strawberries, some cherries, some oak and spice notes, and a bit of developed notes. Medium(+) body with strawberries, cranberries, good concentration of fruit, prominent acidity, decent minerality and quite noticeable tannins with a bit of a hard feeling to them. Aftertaste with berries and tannins. Definitely good weight for a Volnay, but a but chewy and angular which makes it less charming than expected for the appellation. It could be the vintage talking. It could possibly develop and integrate the tannins better, 89(+) pts.
