January 8, 2019 - I certainly wish I had more of the 2015 Bartolo Mascarello Dolcetto in my cellar. Here I found a lifted and floral bouquet, showing a refreshing mix of violets and lavender with crushed blackberries, hints of floral undergrowth and crushed stone. On the palate, juicy, acid-driven textures were offset by a bitter twang of savory herbs, giving way to notes of blackberry with hints of spicy citrus. It finished fresh with mouthwatering acidity, blackberry and cherry fruit, and the slightest hint of tannin. This is so easy to like with wonderful purity.
