  April 24, 2019 - The nose showed a stunning mix of mineral-infused black cherry fruit, layered with sweet herbal tones of sage and mint, as notes of licorice, smoke and a hint of savory game developed in the glass. On the palate, I found soft textures, which were quickly brought to life by zesty acids, delivering notes of spiced ripe cherry, along with minerals, cedar and inner florals. The finish was amazingly long, as saturating cherry and spice tugged at the senses assisted by sweet and sour acids, minerals and final hint of grippy tannin. The ‘17 Aves is fruit forward to be sure, but also balanced and incredibly easy to like.
