May 18, 2019 - The fill was into the neck and the cork was sound; popped, poured and consumed over the course of 2 hours. A deep purple garnet color, with no bricking. A bit tight on the nose, reluctantly offering up notes of dried blackberry, dark chocolate, black truffle, scorched earth and hints of roasted fennel. Medium bodied, with ripe tannins, great tension and focus, and a long finish. In hindsight, I should have double decanted this, but I was short for time after the ‘90 troplomg mondot and ‘89 Pichon baron didn’t live up to expectations. Bags of life
