October 8, 2019 - This was one of the winner wines in a 2009 retrospective a few months back and it solidly delivered on this promise. Following this wine over a few glasses and a few hours it (understandably) reached an even higher score. The highlight is the combination of the two personalities of the wine: fresh & laser sharp but seductive and sensual at the same time. Certainly one of the stars of 2009 and drinking very very well today. Hard to resist.
TN: Decadent red fruit but even more darker forest berries, perfectly ripe and fresh fruit expression (more so than with the last bottle), some floral notes but a strong seductive component with coffee, cocoa, tobacco, some herbs (lavender). Very layered, seductive and intense. Perfect delineation. So pure, fresh and laser sharp and sensual and sexy at the same time. Quite a perfect structure with very round tannins and a good freshness. Very good length.
Decanting: Not decanted. It showed well right from the start but improved with some air. 2 hours of decanting should do the job.7 people found this helpful 6,812 views

10/9/19, 10:17 PM - I’ve had the 2010 only once, 4 years ago. So I can’t really help you with a current and accurate comparison of the two. If my other 2009 vs 2010 experiences are any indication, the 2010 needs more time in the decanter today. Looking at the high praises of the 2010 and from my memory the 2010 is certainly a winner too, probably even better than the 2009.
