Community Tasting Note

  • H2OMansLibrary Likes this wine:

October 16, 2019 - Pretty light garnet. Cherry with some earth undertones. Good acidity and grab cherry on the palate. Delicate wine that can age linger. Eat with lighter Pinot foods. Probably not great with heavy food.

    10/16/19, 5:53 PM - I don't get why you can't give it a simple number score to help me understand how much you liked it. 90-100 = A, 80-90 = B, 70-80 = C.

10/30/19, 1:38 PM - Sorry @seijaro, I don't do numbers. Besides, what I like in a wine might be diametrically opposed to what you like. In other words, a number that I ascribe to a wine isn't really an indication of whether or not you'd like it. The description captures how I felt about the wine.

10/30/19, 3:46 PM - Yes, I get that... but it's absolute, doesn't give me a way to compare it with others. I've been rating them since about 1968 and have found Parker's 100-point scale a perfect way to gauge verbal descriptions. It's pretty easy to grade them in our old grammar school scale that we all understand perfectly: 70-79 = C, 80-89 = B, 90 and above = A. The narrative is most important (as Parker has always insisted) but the number clarifies it for people like me :) Thanks for the comment!
