Community Tasting Note

December 3, 2019 - 1 hour coravin glass decant (didn’t have more time as I was enticed to open this last minute based on another reviewers note) which was nowhere near enough time. This puppy was on lockdown and would not budge one inch. You could get a sense of what is to come but it was wrapped around some serious tannins. Well made wine that is worth trying again in 2-3 years to see if there is a peak of what’s to come. Right now hard to tell much in this phase. Hold until 2023

12/4/19, 6:34 AM - I had the 2016 version and it took 3+ hours in the decanter to budge. Showed some decent flavor potential for such a young and relatively base model $40-50 BDX. The 2016 still needs 4++ years in my ignorant opinion. Too bad this 2015 never showed any of its goods for you (assuming it has any to give at some point).

12/4/19, 6:51 AM - Thanks CSIMM. In the wine’s defense, I only had time for an hour decant in the glass so my tasting was pretty much worthless except for confirming it’s not ready for an hour decant (no surprise there). I did open a good Bourbon which I am trying to get into (very slowly mind you but I still prefer excellent Tequila as my spirit of choice).

I think I have a few ‘15 & ‘18s but didn’t buy any ‘16s for some reason. Will take a look at your notes.
