December 24, 2019 - This 9 yr old wine is still young with an opaque core and ruby meniscus. It takes about 20 minutes in the decanter to open up. When it does it offers up typical cabernet/oak aromas and flavours such as blackcurrant, blueberry, blackberry, cherry, nutmeg, cafe au lait and spices. Perhaps more terroir based Grave features are the peat, smoke and gravel. Firm structure, good length and well balanced. The wine may be going through a difficult period as it scored much higher a few years ago. At one hour it became unbalanced and overly sweet. Interesting to try again in 5 years.
