January 27, 2020 - Purchased this wine a little over six years ago. In a really nice spot right now. Served pop and pour, this wine was displaying kind of an awkward combo of roasted, spicy black and purple fruit with a weedy kind of character. The fruit seemed to be kind of young and sweet, bordering almost 'jammy'...first impression wasn't that great. After an hour, this one was rocking. Nose and palate of black fruit, black licorice, cinnamon and nutmeg. Turned darker in the middle. Finishes with good acidity, tannin softening but actually has great acidity on the finish and a nice black pepper bite. I think this one is right in the drinking window right now, but will probably continue to appreciate over the next 5-7 years. I think the 2014-2026 CT best window is shockingly right on the money although I will definitely say that this one probably needs an hour to stretch its legs before you dive in.

2/15/20, 1:00 PM - Mflesh, I was able to purchase this bottle recently for $40. Going to take it to a restaurant tonight but won't be able to open it up before. Your note tempted me to try it.

2/15/20, 1:03 PM - NICE find for $40!! Hope it shows well. If the restaurant has a bar, show up early and sit at the bar and have them pop it. That way, by the time you get to the table, it will be rocking.

2/16/20, 4:43 PM - Mflesh, we had the wine Saturday night, I think it has peaked and while excellent, I don't think it will get any better. We did not get big sweet fruit, more of a really smooth balanced cab with good acidity. The three of us really enjoyed the wine after a short decant, so I can't comment on it's evolving because it was gone quickly. 92pts for me
