January 31, 2020 - Tasted blind. Oak notes of sweet wood, nutty and faint citric aromas underlining more dominant stone fruit. Even a bit of tropical fruit popping up. Herbal and grassy too. Over time more smoke and a bit of petrol. Concentrated and dense with a texture that is slightly creamy. Perfect amount of crisp acidity to carry this heavyweight. Palate kicks off with almost crunchy saltiness. Given the intensity and higher acidity than I'm used to with Hermitage Marsanne this one probably has a long way to go still. Already great today, but likely even better in 5 years' time.
