February 21, 2020 - Sweet spices, baking spices, red cherry fruit, a bit of milk chocolate and pepper. Good balance with nice acidity and soft tannin. Lightly structured, harmonious and offering great, immediate pleasure. Sweet and juicy palate with some leathery notes as well. Becoming an bit more herbaceous over time. I really like how this combines Napa sexiness with a lighter fruit and less muscular appearance. Can't quite match the 2012 just now, but maybe give it another 3-4 years and I wouldn't be saying this.

I had the 16 line up in the Blankiet wine room last summer. Hard for me to taste such big wines at that stage. Obviously the Prince of Hearts being the most approachable. Total agree that 12 Rive Driote is fantastic! Along with 2010 & 2009.
I don't think I'll approach the 16 R.D. till 2024 -
