March 18, 2017 - Lots of sediment adhering to the side of the bottle. After ~15 minutes opening, the nose showed primarily a bretty, reductive stink. Decanted 4 hours, and by the time we drank it this was quite nice, with brett notes moved to the background. I was surprised to find a very traditional maturing Cote-Rotie with blood, game, intense green peppercorn and pleasing stemmy, herbal notes. Given what I've read of the producer I was expecting something more in the vein of Dard et Ribo. This was very good, but also came across as surprisingly mature, with mostly resolved structure.
