March 27, 2020 - Alas, even perfection runs a bit off course at times.. This fifth bottle--the first four being the best Riojas I have had-- seemed out of sorts--not corked, but rather acid-driven and, even with time in the decanter and glass (one hour), still not showing its lush, clay/tobacco, moist earth, deep dark cherry, old wood knock-out flavor profile. Still that gorgeous deep garnet color and no sign of browning. Could be a stage but do decant at least an hour plus. Until next year!

    Cheers!

3/28/20, 3:51 PM - I thank you both! I have had one bottle a year for 5 years. I believe that this is entering late adolescent withdrawal and was hoping it was not something worse. Sounds like you both agree. Harley is my Spanish wine guru.

Anyway try to keep your hands off this magnificent stuff at least until 2026. This wine is for our grandsons not for us. They will thank our buy and patient.
