June 6, 2020 - In a great place now, the 2010 Pegau is almost black in color, with a nose that just explodes from the glass. The first impression is of black caps, very ripe, with an overlay of roasted pecans. But there are so many nuances: garrigue, melted creosote, creme caramel. Richly flavored, powerful, very long finish. A bit too much Brett detracts on this particular bottle, and I’m marking the score down to reflect that: 94 instead of what might have been 95 or 96.
