May 16, 2020 - Decanted for 2 hours. Condensed nose, and so as the palate with raspberry, wood, smoke and shows some complexity. Long finishing. Powerful wine, and it's quite ready to drink now.

6/19/20, 5:08 AM - So amazing the difference in opinions on this one.....drink now?....hold for a few more years, it'll get better?....etc. All I know is I had it 3 years ago in BDX along with about 4 other vintages and this was the one I bought and I haven't been disappointed even though they themselves, didn't think much of the vintage compared to the others they were serving at lunch that day....there's just something about this wine.

6/22/20, 5:51 PM - @ Mark1npt: This is difficult to judge whether we should drink now, or await a few years. To me, 2005 is a great vintage, and my experience told me that it's not always ready to drink even 15-years passed (year 2020). My experience with this Pichon Lalande 2005 was good as I already enjoy it now. Worth waiting for a few years? Sure I think so but I am happy to have it now..

6/22/20, 6:09 PM - '05 was a pretty good BDX vintage but this Lalande has always been considered and underperformer in all the '05s. I liked it 3 years ago more than any other vintage they served us, bought it and am still enjoying it. Like you, I'm not sure it gets any better with more time. Cheers!
