June 22, 2020 - Needs a pretty big decant at this stage to show off, but when it does, it's rather fantastic. The nose is very characterful; deep fungal/mushroom aspect with some earthy herbs like sage, as well as some raspberry and blueberry. Very polished to drink. Impressively balanced and extremely well made. Delicious raspberry and vanilla mixed with more herbaceous tones. The alcohol is perfectly controlled. The finish is very, very long and brings back some of the earthy, fungal scents. This is just wonderful wine with a great future. It is certainly not a massive, classic Aussie fruit bomb. In fact, I would find it hard to identify as a non-European. At CHF38, an absolute steal. Feel sorry for the Aussies that have to pay 3-4x that amount.

8/28/21, 10:14 PM - Fortunately, those of us who are long term mailing list clients only paid the equivalent of CHF46 for this vintage (at current exchange rates), and CHF50 for the current vintage. Mind you, Rockford has 2 mailing lists. To get on to the one where you can actually buy Basket Press takes a number of years of loyalty.

9/3/23, 3:46 AM - Hi do you buy those at Martel ? still I don't understand their price point policy, as I sell those to wines to wine professionals at this price point... The "normal " price would be around 75/90 euros retail , which eventually is decent I'd say. Bought my first ever bottle down under at the estate for less than 3O AUD back in the day :) Same day I bought St Hallets Old Block, which is a mother great buy around that area ! Cheers
