August 14, 2020 - PNP and consumed over 4+ hours; dark red to purplish color; the initial nose and palate were both somewhat closed; after a little while, blue and black fruit rose to the forefront, with streaks of bitter cocoa and graphite; then some plum, baking spice and light herbs and dust; the longer the wine was open, the more dominant the fruit became; tannins were finely grained and firm but they didn't overpower the fruit and tertiary flavors; great acidity rounded everything out nicely.

This was not a newer-world, extracted wine, but rather one in which the winemaker wanted to showcase the quality of the grape. There is quite a bit of structure here as it did take a little while for the palate to really present itself, but after only an hour or two of air, the wine was shining, presenting the purity of the fruit. One of the best values for an NV Cab.
