October 2, 2020 - Dark in the glass with a touch of aging showing around the edges. Like most of us, eventually. A nose that exhibits red fruit, florals, some oak. My first sip and I looked at my wife and said Cherry upon cherry. But, this was a first sip using a Coravin, so literally no chance to open up. Which, once it did, revealed red fruit, some tobacco, vanilla. This wine definitely needs either time or a decant to fully express itself. As the night wore on, it just got better and better. Tannins remain firm enough for a balanced structure that you would expect in a near 20-year old wine. Nice long finish with no bitterness. Have one more bottle and damn glad I do.
