October 16, 2020 - Wow this is a beautiful NV Champagne. Nose of shaved almonds, minerality, coconut and slight creaminess. This is layered and has lots going on. Tastes is just as wonderful, fresh lemons, almonds and that tasty cream. The bubbles dance along you tung and fade out slowly with a super long finish. 93-94

10/16/20, 5:55 PM - Do you happen to know the disgorgement date by checking the small print in the neck label?

    10/16/20, 6:25 PM - L1815701 Is that the date?

  • FredericoWines commented:

10/16/20, 6:42 PM - Ok. It was disgorged on the 157th day of the year 2018, that is June 6th.

10/16/20, 6:55 PM - I see, Do you correlate that to quality? or is just a reference point?

  • FredericoWines commented:

10/16/20, 7:21 PM - The NV version is pretty consistent year in and year out. I'm just curious.

10/16/20, 7:55 PM - And these do age well - three to four years post-disgorgement work wonders.

10/17/20, 10:52 AM - Good to know, Thanks. So what does the L18 mean? (in the L1815701)
157 is the 157th day or the year. And what does the 01 mean?

  • FredericoWines commented:

10/17/20, 11:10 AM - 18 is the year of 2018. Don't know about the last two digits. Some said they mean that number of batch disgorged on that day.
