November 28, 2020 - I purchased with an oxidized cover from a reputable dealer. The cork was intact, no seepage noted and the wine was well within the neck. I double decanted and left the cork/cap off the bottle. The nose was pleasant typical of this age and year, but the initial taste was tannic and musty and these features were quite overpowering. I gave up on an 1983 Palmer too early once perhaps bc of this. On the suggestion of my friends @drinkbordeaux.com I let it sit for an hour. It softened and turned into a great bottle of wine with tertiary characteristics, currant, tobacco, plum, etc.
