January 30, 2021 - This was found in a supermarket shelf in 2008 and was priced near the going rate at the time for more recent vintages. I think around €130. Obviously always a bit worrying when you source wine in this manner but I think Champagne is a bit more robust. The label got scuffed from dragging it in and out of the Eurocave over the years. Pale gold in colour. Ripe fruit, ripe red apple and pear with secondary aromas of caramel. Medium acidity. Low alcohol at 12.5% vol.

Surprisingly youthful, Should not have been worried about its initial storage. Secondary aromas became more pronounced as it warmed up in the glass. Delighted I took the risk on the purchase when I did. Not to sure I would pay the premium for this excellent vintage now. Great experience though.
