March 6, 2021 - Very dark purple. Cork in beautiful condition. Blackberry and cassis on the nose. Good balance of fruit and acid. Velvety mouthfeel. Black fruit on the attack. Somewhat tight yet. Black cherry on the midpalate. Somewhat tart on the ten second finish. Drank after opening but prior to a two hour decant before a dinner of braised short rib and feta mashers. Nice wine.

3/7/21, 6:48 AM - Nice notes.....always love is feminine velvety mouth feel. A great buy year in and year out, as it's very under appreciated in BDX compared to the big guys. Probably an even longer decant would have helped further?

3/7/21, 11:31 AM - Follow up - at the end of the evening, there was still an inch of wine in the bottom of the decanter, and we sipped it as we were doing dishes. It had opened up completely, nothing tight about it at all by that point. Very nice way to end a nice evening.

3/7/21, 12:10 PM - Awesome....often times those last few sips are the best! Nothing for me to decant an '00-05 for 4-6 hours. This '09 may want even more? So many people out there, myself included at one time were so afraid to decant anything more than an hour! I have recently done a Rioja for 24 hours on the advice of a friend and it was dead bang on. Who would have thought?
