March 28, 2021 - First time experience with the velvet glove. It did not disappoint! I could go on and on about how this blew everyone away at last night's dinner. Personally, I love the enormous fruit on the nose and mid palate. Black fruits dominate. Then is framed with a fantastic tannin and acid balanced back bone. Fun wine! But steep at 180.00 for price of admission. Great special occasion wine!

4/21/21, 9:27 AM - We did a standard open air decant using no aeration device. Waited 3 hours before consumption with many swirls during the period the decanting. After hour 5 it did not seem improve much.
