April 26, 2021 - Definitely the most underwhelming of the 2000 Bordeaux I have had so far. Also compared to other Leoville Barton vintages a disappointment. Not really showing substantial improvement over past years. I doubt this will ever shine...

4/26/21, 11:19 AM - So unfortunate. This has been noted by others. This wine was sold as a future in 2002 for $125 per bottle - as a result of Robert Parker's rave reviews.

4/26/21, 11:47 AM - On a more optimistic note remember the 1982 took 35 years to come good. I have found Barton pre 2006 is the latest developer in St Julien. Fingers crossed

4/27/21, 3:26 AM - I have still quite a few bottles, so some hope is needed. But the wine did also not substantially improve over hours resp. days it was open.

6/8/21, 7:13 PM - Not sure how much of this was personal taste or bottle variation--always a potential issue with older European wines--but mine drank beautifully last night with about 2-2.5 hours of air. Cheers!
