June 4, 2021 - My previous experiences with Beaujolais weren't very good, although the stuff I tried earlier was nouveau. I received an email extoling the aging virtues of Beaujolais, which spiked my interest and I decided to give it another go.

Day 1: Too much bright red fruit for my taste, preferring something more rich. The tannins are not very well integrated into the wine. Seems I am tasting the wine and the feel of the tannins as two distinct things. Ready to give up on Beaujolais again....

Day 2: A surprise. The bright fruit notes had settled down giving the wine a richer feel. The tannins are still quite noticeable, but seem nicely integrated.

I think this wine would do best with some more age on it. I will likely purchase another bottle or two and forget about them for some time.

1/22/22, 9:25 AM - Good observation. See J. Gilman's tasting note, drinking window and score. This wine needs to sit in the cellar in order to get your money's worth and full enjoyment of it. Patience pays off w/many of Brun's wines.
