I honestly believe it is just barely approaching the start of its window and needs a generous amount of air to wake it up. Either that, or the bottle variance bug bit you! -

8/11/21, 11:43 AM - TL.....I think we sometimes mistakenly think a slow ox works the same as a full decant and it doesn't because you can't get enough surface area/air into the bottle to do much, so a lot of times a 12 hour slow ox can't do anywhere near what a 4 hour decant can with one of these BDX.....IMO. It does take some trial and error, but you can't be afraid to experiment and try different things. I used to only treat my aged BDX to long decants but have since been taught by others on here that even 'young' Cali's benefit greatly from varying decants.
