August 28, 2021 - Wine Group Picnic at Steve's: PnP - Wow! What an awesome wine and right in my wheelhouse! The best wine of the tasting, that I tasted! Nose was full of perfumed flower, dark fruit and tertiary flavors that. included smoked meat, tobacco and cedar, with shades of sweet toasted oak. What really set this wine apart was the silky mouthfeel that accompanied the rainbow of flavors. This was already my favorite wine, but almost rose to another level when paired with a smoked brisket. Wish I had some of this in my cellar! Just awesome! Got even better with time.

8/29/21, 6:35 AM - Sounds amazing. 2009 seems like good timing for SQN. I had a syrah (name too long to remember right now) on a zoom with Mark awhile ago but it did need a long decant for my tastes.. was this a formal tasting or just a private dinner?

8/29/21, 10:27 AM - This was a picnic with one of the tasting groups I belong to, so tons of people and tons of wine! I just picked a few I wanted to taste or drink, and stuck with those. I still need to finish posting my notes, I was slightly inebriated last night....surprised my notes even make any sense!
