October 30, 2021 - To the nose, blackberry and black cherry with slight forest, plus faint eucalyptus. On the palate, cherry (black and red), blackberry/cassis, and a mix of raspberry, cranberry and plum for fruit. Some forest/herbaceous and forest floor. More black pepper than white pepper, which override other spices. While 14.5%, it does not appear hot, yet dryness may be more from ethanol than from tannins which were in laces. Slightly more fruit forward than, and not as complex as, expected but worked well after a rose for a group dinner (grilled lamb and sirloin burgers).
