November 12, 2021 - Getting the gang together @ Wus (plus birthdays!) (Wu's Wonton King): The old man of the group and this is a wine that I think you have to really like old wine to get. It's prob a bit on the tired side but all secondary and tertiary and as I am one of those ppl who does like the really old ones I enjoyed it quite a bit.

1/12/22, 12:17 PM - Thanks for couching this note in terms of your personal feelings regarding tertiary characteristics. That’s very, very helpful in terms of gauging where this bottle was on the development spectrum. If someone who doesn’t like the tertiary stuff says a bottle was over the hill, that means something very different than the same statement does coming from one such as yourself.

1/12/22, 1:19 PM - Yes - I think there's a big disparity in people's comfort. To be fair - I really liked the '75 Montrose, but unlike a lot of other Montrose I wouldn't say it's kept its fruit.
