November 14, 2021 - This is a very good aged Chassagne Montrachet and for the price superb. The fruit flavors have lost a bit of intensity but are complemented by delicious tertiary characteristics with enough acid to keep this wine drinking well for a while yet.

It’s a medium gold color, looks weighty.

The nose is straw and honeysuckle, a little nuttiness, a little cur grass. Elegant but not super intense.

Prety high acid and generous alcohol give this wine a full bodied mouthfeel and a lot of structure. The flavor is soft, ripe pear with a hint of lemon, straw, a bit of the grassiness, and then quite a long finish where some nuttiness, petroleum and caramel come into play. A bit of a hole in the mid palate on the finish, but generally really enjoyable.
