December 4, 2021 - Slightly reductive at first, fresh and pure red berry fruit but that’s pretty much it in terms of aromas. Fresh palate showing pretty much only fruit. A nice wine, but lacks character and complexity.

Great note, but I do not agree on your comment that the wine lacks character. how many Swiss pinots do you know that are that raw and naked? I think that it is the puristic approach which distinguishes this wine from others. Markus does not add any artificial ingredients into the wine during vinification, thats why you described the wine as „reductive“, which is pure intention from the winemaker imo and makes it unique. Happy to discuss. I hope that you are well and that we can cheer on a glass of wine soon again!

Re Markus Ruch: Well, a raw potato just doesn't taste as good as a baked potato with proper seasoning... ;)
