  February 6, 2022 - Beautiful wine and a surprise winner for the night. Not a Syrah bomb I thought might happen. This was pure elegance with light spice and earth but very rounded and supple. Long finish. Love this wine!

  2/7/22, 8:08 AM - Thanks for your note. BTW, CdP is not a pure Syrah wine. It's a blend of more than 10 varietals mainly of Grenache, Mourvedre, Syrah and many others. For Beaucastel '10, it's a classic blend of 30% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah, 10% Counoise and the balance the other permitted varietals in the appellation. So lack of obvious Syrah characters is not surprising.
