May 28, 2022 - Tasted blind. Excellent. Pretty aromas of flowers and sweet strawberries with light herbal and gamey nuances. Delicious red fruit that lithely glides along the tongue before finishing with serious mouth-drying tannins. I’ve realized, in my blind tasting experiences, that gamay and grenache are quite similar, and those are my two top options here. I am going to go with grenache due to the red fruit and tannins, and because I’m not sure gamay is capable of reaching this quality level. I figure this is young New World grenache from a high-end producer. Rating: 95.
