July 12, 2022 - Minimal soakage on the cork and only a small amount of sediment in the bottle. Decanted for about an hour. Deep plummy red with just the beginnings of some garnet starting to appear at the rim. Stunning nose of red plums, meat jus, spice, garrigue (especially fresh lavendar and bay), ink, sandlewood, warm dusty stones, licorice, and more. Very complex, sweet/savoury and inviting! I'm speechless over the mouthfeel! Full, round, rich, sweet fruit extract, supple tannins, fresh but not overt acidity and pleasantly warming alcohol on the finish. Palate follow the nose - lots of spice, garrigue, minerals and more, fully enveloped in a robe of sweet, meaty, dark red and black fruit. Finishes just off dry, long, clean and fresh with everything perfectly in balance and in its proper place. Much more integrated, supple and approachable than last year's. Stunning!!
