April 26, 1991 - At Singer & Foy survey of '83 Bordeaux. Dark ruby, but lightening up at the edge. Distinct clove and cinnamon stand out in the forward, fruity (though lightish) aromas. Seems ready to go round the bend. Probably fully mature. "Glue" smell. In the mouth, it behaves better. Certainly round and elegant, but even here there is a disturbing "off" component. Oaky. A tremendous disappointment. 4-8-12-3: 77/100.
