March 26, 2022 - Praelum - Central Italy Grand Tasting (Praelum Wine Bistro): Pale garnet with orange edges. Expressive nose, with ripe red cherey aromas, roses, tangerine peel, and fresh herbs. A bright, floral, savoury briny attack, with soft tannins and bright acids, tart sour cherry, fresh dill and tarragon. A very classic, long, savoury finish with hints of tar. Lovely!

If I was keen to pop this in Jan 2023; Would a 12 hour decant suffice?
    Or more!?

12/22/22, 7:17 PM - @Juliansi - I would think bottle-breathing overnight will be good, whilst drinking off a small glass to bring the level past the shoulder for better air contact. Prefer not to decant this wine at all, as I was told before that it's something the late Gianfranco had seriously frowned upon.

I just read what he said too...

Another tip before tasting a bottle of Soldera wine is to leave it in the bottle without decanting and appreciate how it evolves over the next few hours.

If it is a recent vintage, just open the wine shortly before tasting it.

A great wine goes with any great food, without limits.

1/2/23, 5:32 PM - Happy New Year and all the best to you ... Can't wait to try out this Soldera (my first ever!) at the end of this month, in time for Chinese New Year here in Malaysia.
