Caressing acidity. Chambolle typical fruit profile in harmony with a clear imprint of limestone. I don't find this new world in style as the minerality and limestone are in stark relief here. This is in line with the '21 vintage- a showcase of site over alcohol and fruit.

Nose: honey, apricot, walnut, wax, matchstick. Pretty muted though.

Palate: Yellow apple, honey, cooked lemon, white pepper, very present bitter stemmy / apple core note. Medium acid, medium body, medium+ length with a long bitter finish.

Maybe something was off with this bottle, since other folks se to like it fairly well? The bitter note absolutely ruined it for me.

Pale copper color. Aromas invite all sorts of white flowers, dandelion, perfume, over red apple peel and watermelon. Crisp and refreshing on the palate with plush texture and zippy acidity, with flavors of strawberries and red apples. Nuances of white pepper, dandelion, honeysuckle, and mint add complexity. Lively, punchy, and lots of flavor and depth for a great price. A blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot.

This is a star! Dark color for a CdP. Amazing nose of dark berries, garrigue, and stones. Very rich in the mouth, more than I expect from a CdP. Good acidity, fine tannins, almost no bite (I always get a bit of a bite from CdP). Long finish, I keep coming back for more. Really really great wine, a start of the vintage IMO.

As close as our cellar could get to today's Giro d'Italia stage. Wow... Beautiful strawberry/dark cherry cola nose. Fine tannins and ample acidity underlie a swirl of bright flavors. First experience with this varietal and a memorable one.

Light straw color. Lively and spritely on the nose with green apples, kiwi, along with flinty-saline vibes, and tones of dandelion, white pepper, and some celery seed and daisies. Zesty and fun on the palate with a light frame and fresh acid, with flavors of crunchy green pears, kiwi, and cantaloupe. Notes of dried pineapple, white and yellow flowers, and welcomed tones of white pepper and sliced bell pepper. Finishes with some peach nectar and mint. Fun, crowd-pleasing stuff.

I’ll buy another bottle (or 2 or 3 at Treasury discount prices), but for me the 2017 Coombsvile was far more complex. This is ok, and (basic) Oakville for (very basic) Oakville lovers. And it very well may be in a dormant state. But I found it to be extremely muted compared to the complexity of the Coombsville, which had layered fragrance and a lot more going on on the palate. I’m interested to try the 2017 Rutherford, because these 2017 Etudes have been fair expressions of the AVAs, on a base level, if nothing else. Notes: Similar nose to the Coombsville (blue, fragrant). But past that, not as much blue or red fruit, not much else, and basic for this price point. I may be using that adjective, “basic,” too much? Front palate initially screamed Oakville, but never got past the threshold of similarly priced 2017 Oakville wines. The fruit burst on the front of the palate was there, with no mid-palate enjoyment and no discernible finish. Very inky entrance, but not much more. Finish was almost non-existent. Just dry fruit. Although I bought it, this screams “private equity” in an unstable/uncertain harvest. I like Etude, but I question their quality control at this price point. They absolutely “can” pull it off, but this particular bottle makes me question whether they *will* in the future.

Medium+ to deep garnet in colour with slight bricking on the rim, with medium legs.

Smoky and oaky on the nose with some spices - Smoke, vanilla, peppercorns, red cherries, and raspberries.

Earthy on the palate with great acidity - Sour red cherries, cranberries, leather, wet earth, some peppercorns, and hint of vanilla. Tannins are quite powerful and grippy, but the acidity does make you keep reaching for more. Medium to medium+ finish with a bit of heat and the sour red cherry notes lingering around.

Overall, this is a bit one-dimensional and not overly complex, but is nonetheless quite delicious.

Tasted after 45 minutes of air. Dark ruby color. Opaque. Some bramble on the nose. Blackberries. Dusty tannins. Some sage notes. Spicy. Nice mid palate lift. Quite a bit going on here. This could use some time for everything to become integrated.

Mint, stewed purple fruits, pepper, jammy/spicy/stewy. Noticeable alcohol. It’s a big wine. Not something I would drink often, but enjoyable from time to time. Best if served slightly chilled. It hides some of the alcohol.

Nose: green apple, graphite, red flowers, cedarwood, truffles, black fruits, violet
Notes: In pristine condition with good fill and a very nice cork. I already cannot count how many times I've tasted this wine and it's been showing consistent notes. The aroma of this wine is stunning and certainly demonstrates what the region plus this Chateau is capable of, I frequently find Pomerol to be not so Bordeaux as their wines are usually very feminine and elegant compared to the rest of the region. This particular vintage and Chateau has been described to present the scent of green apples which is an accurate catch of the nose of this wine and it's fair to say that only top wines from this region can show an aroma like this. This particular bottle is quite young and could last for at least another 15 years.

Decent table wine, nothing to rave about, but also nothing to make it off-putting either. Oddly, I'm getting an initial nose of "pizza" and then with a bit of air, a little more fruit. Mouthfeel is almost astringent, but not in a bad way. Medium finish resolves as a pleasant bitterness. Would drink again, but won't buy in bulk.

Drinking beautifully. Harvested before the 2020 fires, this wine had a lovely sweet nose of spring flowers and crushed red fruit. Fresh flavors of bing cherry and cola. Very easy to drink. No obvious tannins so I’d drink up now.

A Costco buy. Very rewarding and yummy.

Color. Saturated red. Very inky.

Nose. Cherries, undergrowth, cocoa, bran. Very earthy wine.

Palate. Glycerin, backwards, tannins are immense! Lots of cocoa and delicious character! It's not a huge wine. But very, very good.

Nose: honey, brioche, caramel, peach, white flower, fig, vanilla, poached pear, red date, coconut, creme brulee
Notes: disgorged April 2012, 12.5% ABV. This wine is probably at or slightly past peak but it is drinking very nicely now with quite a mature palate. Needless to say the usual oxidative style of the house has been quite prominent and this wine has a relatively sweet nose showing plenty of vanilla/brioche/caramel with a mixture of fruits such as peach, pear and coconut. Whilst this has been quite enjoyable to drink but I wouldn't consider this to be one of my favorites from the house.

Light to medium gold. Tiny bubbles, not persistent. Nose is tight, maybe a little yellow apple, seashells, rubber, and iron. Not a lot of foam, medium (+) body, medium acid and finish, with green apple, kiwi, iron, and minerals. Light bitterness on the back end. Not bad, but could use a bit more acidity, and the batch my bottles are from are drink em sooner than later.
