Rating as how it’s drinking NOW, because it is in a perfect drinking window.
Give it a little air please. We just returned from tasting Oregon Willamette Valley Pinot wines and many were several clicks better, but for the price this is Varietally correct and truly fine. Secret is buying current vintage and hold until 4-5 years old counting from September. If not, aerate and decant aggressively (each step makes it a year older from what Oregon vintners told us).

The few more years in the bottle from last time made a world of difference. Nice and smooth. Easy on the pallet. Enjoying it very much with lamb chops

Ruby red, with translucent edges, forest red fruits and hints of balsam on the nose, medium-bodied, lively on the palate with pleasant astringency and a lingering finish. Only one more bottle in the cellar :(

Another winner. Did a glass one night via a Corvain- just awesome. Opened and drank rest two nites later. Clearly a RM and clearly a winner.

A decent cab, but not an outstanding one. Fruity with light flavor and mouthfeel

Probably, this was once a very excellent bottle of juice. Now, despite a long finish, all the fruit and most of the flavor has dissipated. Theres enough left to let you know youre drinking a Chardonnay, but basically, theres a reason for the bargain basement price and its an opportunity missed.

Opening act to 1996 Bordeaux tasting. Perfect bottle. Perhaps just past prime but bursting with minerals and seashells. Loved it.

Hitting a bad streak with this wine. Last bottle was corked. This one has an oaky dignified nose. But the fruit is weak and the finish is watery. Very unlike these Hall cabs on a typical day.

All I got were burnt embers. This is reduced and way too young.

Opened not decanted and served chilled. Lemon lime; medium weight in body; tart fruit with nice acidity that’s not too sweet; ends with a sour, tangy semi dry finish lime finish. Very Good

Sautéed plum, flint, and licorice. Nice dryness on the palate. Soft tannins on the longish finish. This has aged very well for a nothing special vintage.

Initially on Day 1 it showed reduction and was not very expressive, almost harsh with poor mid and back palate. Day 2 under argon it filled out and is much better; typical Meursault notes. Round, not really focused yet but on the way.

If drinking now probably an hour or two decant would do wonders. Overall a well made wine opened too early. Think this has years to go and will be quite good down the road.

Nose of chocolate and berries, followed by a taste of cranberries and pepper on the palate. Nice acidity, good summer sipper for a light bodied red.

I do prefer the 2019 over the 2020, still good juice. A big fan of grapes sourced from Texas. It's amazing to see the new "Napa" developing here in Central Texas. This vintage was from Vanderlei Vineyards.

Almond biscotti, black cherry, and pineapple. Smooth, dry palate, with grainy acidity. This is drinking great for my palate.

Big, Bold, high elevation Napa. It was okay. tannins were inside out. Highvily Extracted. Blind, It tasted young, like a 2020 vintage wine . Disliked by the Francophiles in the group. Could age another 10-15 years easily. Otherwise, give a few hours to decant.

Cherries and red fruit on the nose. Palate pretty simple but balanced acidity and tannin. Moderate drying finish. I love CDP so I enjoyed it but I believe I paid less than $40 for this so it’s a good drinker with food mid week. Would not pay MSRP for it. I have 6 and will follow over the next few years.

Excellent QPR. Cigar box, cassis, vanilla, mint. This has seen American and French oak but the new American oak is dominant.

Delicious wine! Deep and flavorful. Dry, smooth, jammy - everything I’d expect from a Napa Cab. Predictable Cakebread quality. Decanted for 90 minutes and it drank really well. Got noticeably flatter at 3 hours, and had more sediment than I would have liked. Good QPR

My wife likes very young Bordeaux's, and I like 30+ year old Bordeaux's. This bottle was opened for my wife. It was drunk without any decant. This is a deep dark purple opaque wine. The wine is made up of 60% merlot, 30% cabernet franc, and 10% cabernet sauvignon with 14.5% alcohol. This is a huge big bodied wine and very varietal for its makeup. It has a firm consistency and powerful intensity. It's hard to guess as to how many years this wine will take to calm down. The tannins are firm, and the structure is austere. If you like young wines you'll like this one since it's not too mean to drink now. It's a good dollar value for Bordeaux of this quality.

Surprisingly not to young. Fruit bountiful but laced with enough tannic bite to round it out. Decanted for 30-50 minutes and it needed it. Would nonetheless wait 4-5 years before opening next one.

Pretty much as expected - silky enough, with undertones of oak, and a stealthily firm tannic structure. A decent charge of intense dark berry fruit, a hint of flowers, and some espresso and anise on the punchy palate.

This is way better than I had any reason to expect. Nose all about red fruit especially cherry, cranberry. Mushrooms and a bit of forest floor. Nicely matured. Palate has crunchy acid, mineral. Fruit strong here, and a bit earthy. Cedar/pine forest floor. Considerable mineral.

Having just had a very nice 2014 vintage of this wine, then seeing the 2021 on sale this week, had to commit infanticide to guide my purchasing decision on more bottles. Took a 90 minute decant to come around, really started to show after 2 hours. 60 F. Deep ruby color. Lovely aromatic nose of plum, black cherry cola, vanilla, dark chocolate and earthy mint. Slightest hint of barnyard. Lively acidity and velvety tannins, slightest bit of heat, oak needs a bit more time to integrate. Full-bodied. Reasonably intense tart black cherry and sweet plum on the palate, black tea and subtle dried oak notes. Lingering drying cherry finish. Definitely a rebuy @ $40, but will hold off on opening those bottles for a few years.

By the glass as part of their signature pairing at Mingles , Seoul.
Straight out of the glass singing wine and what a great surprise. Ditch the flutes here ( they are for beer anyway) and go for big white wine glasses to allow the wine the full capacity to deliver. Well aged , rich palate, good autolitic side, fuller palate and with a lot of bready truffle-y notes on the nose . Superb and easy 94 .

100% Chardonnay , disgorged 21 Jan 2021 with 3 g/l

Honeysuckle and jasmine, along with pineapple, melon and saline on the nose. Some oakiness popping into the smell, but kinda complimentary.

Palate was tropical with melon, hint of pineapple cream, no zippy acid or bitterness, love the Musque clones.

Actually drank better as it warmed, some MOG ( matter other than grape) in the bottom of the bottle, much like Bevan’s SB.

Without realizing it, we have drunk a bottle of this wine in April 2022, 2023, and now 2024. Fruity, black cherry flavors, with hints of spice and herbs. This wine has some tannins, but won’t stand up to roasted meat. We like it best with pasta and my homemade red sauce.

I was looking for something old and woody from my cellar to go with polenta and braised short ribs. Well - this wine sure did not disappoint!! From my limited experience, this wine took me back to my childhood when I first smelled my older sister’s cedar ‘hope chest’. Huge cedar notes, very intense, but just what I was looking for. Very dry and almost a bit acidic, but a refreshing change from most of today’s wines that are too fruity and sweet. Great wine!!
