Tasted blind – This is a massive wine in all aspects: nose, palate, weight, intensity. Big nose with lots of toast, citrus and orchard fruit. On the palate it’s weighty and powerful with loads of acidity and minerality. What this lacks in elegance it makes up in power. Finish is long commanding. While this is an excellent bottle of bubble, I can’t help but think given the press I was slightly underwhelmed. Perhaps I’m just a whore for blanc de blanc. Drinking well now, tons of time left to improve. Excellent. 92+

Tasted blind – nice nose that immediately hinted at a Cote de Beaune white or even a ripe year Chablis with notes of floral, lime, lemon, green apple and some lifted note that I couldn’t put my finger on. Expansive on the palate with richer flavours and a fat and fairly soft and heavy mouthfeel. I couldn’t help but think this could use more acidity. I was somewhat shocked to see this reveal as 09 Fevre Les Clos as I tasted this at the Domaine last year and found it to have better balance and more acidity and minerality. An excellent wine no matter how you look at it, but this is the second 09 from Fevre I’ve had the last few weeks that has been fairly disappointing. Needs a few years for sure. Excellent. 90+

Tasted blind – trimmer on the nose with floral and red pinot fruit aromas. Not showing much development on the nose and the palate isn’t much different. Leaner and lighter then I would have expected. Good acid and light tannins with a medium length finish. This is quite young and while it’s approachable, it needs another 3-5 years. Good. 87+

Tasted blind – nose of strawberries and a hint of herbs with a very nice Asian spice notes that reminded me of Vosne-Romanee, but that’s where the similarities stop. On the palate there are very little tannins and average acidity with candied and juicy flavours that had many of us thinking Beaujolais/Gamay. Lighter in body with no real texture or richness or depth. An easy drinking wine that I would consider a ‘crowd pleaser’. Good.

This was drinking nicely in a youthful sort of way. Nice big nose with lots of dark red pinot fruit and some meaty and gravelly aromas as well. The youthfulness of the nose carries onto the palate with loads of fruit intensity, noticeable but not offensive alcohol and solid acidity and tannins. Fairly weighty in the mouth with a slightly round texture and a long minerally finish. It’s drinking okay now and was fun to check in on it but this needs 3-5 years before another look. Excellent. 90+

Tasted blind – for some reason I didn’t read a lot down for this wine. A good amount of residual sugar here with lots minerality and soft acid. Good.

Tasted blind – copper/gold colour. Sweeter nose with notes of honey, saffron, oxidized apples. Lots of tension and acid on the palate with flavours of oxidized pear and honey. There is some premature oxidation going on but it’s not spoiled or fully premixed yet. Overall sweet and delicious but probably advanced. Very good.

Tasted blind – This had such a pronounced and pure nose with notes of Asian spice, red pinot fruit, tobacco and cherries. On the palate this was rich and silky yet surprisingly elegant and delicate. The tannin, acidity and fruit are all in balance and this wine is just starting to strut its stuff. Once this was revealed many of us at the dinner were shocked to see what this was. Several of the ITB professionals had guesses all over the map before finally narrowing it down to Clos Vougeot and Jadot based on process of elimination. Can be thoroughly enjoyed now but if I had any of these I wouldn’t touch them for another 5 years. My WOTN. Outstanding. 93+

Tasted blind – modernish nose with lots of young oak. Feminine and delicate on the palate with very little tannins. Everyone at the table was absolutely shocked when this was revealed. I had this wine last year it was excellent and showed nothing like this bottle. There was nothing ‘Rousseau’ about this. Judgment reserved.

Tasted blind – the nose here wasn’t very charming with candied red fruits, herbs and a chemical high toned note. On the palate it’s angular and the acidity is offensive. Not worth drinking.

Tasted blind – from 375ml. No formal notes. Sweet, honey, candied mango, long finish, solid acidity. Well balanced. Drink or hold. Excellent.
