Introduction

First birthday party for Lia (our 1 year old daughter) and Shiu (son on sister-in-law). Food consisted of Fois-gras with caramelised apples, duck confit, Rib-eye, and blue cheeses.

Rusty appearance. Glazed fruit and chocolate nose. Rich, full sensual palate with truffle and green tobacco. Sweet finish. Lovely stuff.

Drank with US rib-eye steak and roasted vegetables as 3rd course of Lia's first birthday party. Thick, lush, creamy appearance. Cassis, forest fruit, candy (without the negative connotations) and caramel nose. Huge, full fruit up front which goes on and on wrapped by lovely sweet, dusted tanins. This was so wonderful - like teetering on the brink of shimmering pleasure. Almost quivering. Enjoyed this so much now but have a case in bond stored in the uk - will crack it open from 2022 and savour from then on.

Still fresh nose with flower and hot fruit. Beautiful, silky smooth palatate - velvet. Some heat on the finish but long, balanced, polished, and refined.
