Flight 1 (1 note)

Red
2002 Chateau Musar Lebanon, Bekaa Valley
88 points
Slight age.
Spicy, fruity, interesting nose, but not a wow nose.
Juicy, liquorice, very moreish, drinking well, balanced, delicious, slightly hot, not very long.

Flight 2 (1 note)

Red
2001 Chateau Musar Lebanon, Bekaa Valley
90 points
Slight age.
Very meaty nose with fruit, spice and oak.
Fruity, tobacco, excellent balance, lean and mean, fruity mid palate, serious, elegant, spicy, reasonable length.

Flight 3 (1 note)

Red
2000 Chateau Musar Lebanon, Bekaa Valley
87 points
Youthful colour.
Meaty, hard work to find fruit, heady perfume, butterscotch, caramel.
Loads of fruit, savoury, oaky, quite tannic, a tough wine, medium length.

Flight 4 (1 note)

Red
1999 Chateau Musar Lebanon, Bekaa Valley
92 points
Plenty of age showing.
Initially a leathery nose, then the delicate, intriguing perfume of fruit.
Juicy and moreish, plenty of tannin, a certain subtle elegance, quite long.

Flight 5 (1 note)

Red
1997 Chateau Musar Lebanon, Bekaa Valley
88 points
Mahogany.
Oaky nose, almost madeirised, very complex.
Juicy, tannic, smooth mid palate, tart finish, medium length.

Flight 6 (1 note)

Red
1995 Chateau Musar Lebanon, Bekaa Valley
86 points
Russet/mahogany.
Meaty nose, no fruit, unpromising.
Sweet and sweaty, salty, tannic.

Flight 7 (1 note)

Red
1989 Chateau Musar Lebanon, Bekaa Valley
88 points
Mahogany.
Meaty nose with germolene, no fruit.
Sweet, balanced, smooth mid palate, elegant, very long. The taste certainly makes up for the nose.

Flight 8 (1 note)

White
2003 Chateau Musar Blanc Lebanon, Bekaa Valley
86 points
Rich light gold.
Strangely aromatic, nuts, honey.
Interesting, very good accompaniment for goats cheese.
