2012 Domaine Le Colombier Vacqueyras France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Vacqueyras
90 points
Opaque, a hint of age.
A little bit of the garrigue on the nose, gentle fruit, very attractive but restrained.
Sweet fresh fruity attack, pleasant tannins adding a slight bitterness, quite long, this wine is worth keeping 2-5 years.

2011 Domaine la Soumade Rasteau France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Rasteau
89 points
Quite intense purple with a hint of age, opaque.
Interesting nose, slightly burnt notes, a bit of development.
Animal notes in the fruity attack, good balance, savoury, warming, spicy, quite long, keeping well and will keep another couple of years.

Flight 4 (1 note)

Red
2011 Domaine La Bouïssiere Gigondas France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Gigondas
89 points
Opaque with a little age.
Slightly fruity nose.
Fruity but any sweetness derives from the high alcohol, this wine fels very alcoholic, good length.

91 points
Translucent, a hint of age.
Light, elegant, fruity nose, a hint of green vegetables, complex and lovely.
There's a lot of alcohol here but the fruit carries the day, lovely mid palate smoothness, pretty long, drinking well now and will continue to please over the next five years.

Flight 7 (1 note)

Red
2008 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe Châteauneuf-du-Pape La Crau France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
86 points
Translucent, a hint of age.
A hint of age on the nose, baked fruit.
This wine tastes old, there's some treacly fruit, there's tannin but little acidity, will still work with food, slightly disappointing.

Flight 8 (1 note)

Red
1999 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
91 points
Quite tawny.
The nose is typical of old wine.
Lovely in the mouth, obviously old but there's a refreshing sweetness, very attractive.
